The Different Incentives for Writing Software

In my experience in every field I've been, even an internal software, where these pressures might be slightly different. Your incentives are just not there for writing this kind of software. My experience is companies view that kind of software as inexpensive. It doesn't make the company moneyUsually, or it's usually indirect enough so they'll cut every corner they could possibly cut.
