The Problem With Media Expansion

I think to some extent this problem just feels like the standard expansion of a medium problem you know due to how many things are out in the world for people. I feel like I actually wouldn't care except if they just left roguelikes out of it if they just don't use that word because it's like what they've done is effectively changed there is a very specific genre of game. imagine if card games if people are playing like basketball like calling it a card game right they're using a ball like I don't know how they justify it but it's somehow justified everyone starts calling basketball a card game.
