Light Non Rem Sleep Is More Than Half Our Time Is There Any Value to Lighter Sleep?

Sleep should have been strongly selected against in the course of evolution. Light non rem sleep has lots of functions as well. It is 50 % of the nigt and it has functions. When you're asleep, you're not finding a mate or reproducing nor foraging for food. You are vunerable de predation on any one of those grounds but all of them as a collective.
