The pendulum has swung completely in the other direction where mental health is not only a priority, but perhaps it's such a priority that we're doing things that actually hurt an athlete's mental health. You don't want to force someone when they have 10 out of 10 fear and they're having suicidal ideation because of it to do something that's dangerous. But you also can't hold people back. Like evidence-based therapy literally says, do the thing that makes you anxious in a supporting caring environment.
