The majority of runners probably aren't running to the maximum amount they can. To a lot of people it can just be an excuse to say I'm a little bit busy today. This isn't an excuse to not nearly train as much. It is a way of thinking about things where you're treating recovery just as importantly as you are training sessions to make you fitter.
