Can Time Restricted Eating Really Help People Lose Weight?
Sally Kohn: I want to talk with you about a new study that your group published in JAMA. She asks if time restricted eating, where you effectively extend the fasting duration so you're fasting for a longer period each day, can that actually help people lose weight? Kohn: We had participants eat over about an eight hour period early in the day and then they fasted for 16 hours a day. And we were interested in whether this is a better approach for losing weight than what the standard person would do.
