How to Train for a Marathon

You could probably include all of these things, but for most people I'd say you wouldn't want to work on everything at once. A lot of that time should be spent aerobic zone one zone two and not focus on too much intensity until you've got that nailed basically. For a marathon, the long run is essential, but you've got to build it all gradually. Then you've got the marathon-specific sessions with a bit pace intensity. And then if you can build hills into the runs, they're fantastic, but just manage the load properly before trying to make it too complicated.
