CHAPTER

The Zen Practice and the Horrors of the Buddha

The Zen practice traditionally as you said it doesn't talk a lot about the horrors or the other psychological teachings of the Buddha they're extremely valuable. And I think more nowadays there's a little integration of the teaching. What can happen is you know you learn on that to be present. To notice what's happening in your own mind. You can feel miserable and not even know it because you're so transported by whatever story you're telling yourself. It's really confirming to have some understanding of the states that you were talking about at all.
