Are Towns More Accepting of Jews Than Cities?
There was an anti-Jewish sentiment across those two centuries which ebbed and flowed but to get to these really big attacks they aren't common at all. The reason that the eastern countries in particular place like Poland and Austria and eastern Germany get such large concentrations of Jewish populations is because of national expulsions from places like England. And were some places more accepting more friendly to Jewish communities than others? I think England has a reputation at least for being particularly hostile to the Jews but Poland at one point offered strong protection and refuge for the Jews. We need to be aware that we know of the moments of violence or the acts of violence that are recorded but there are obviously long periods where these things
