What do you see as the next frontier in meditation science? I think they are one of the most important things is going to be micro practices. How can we bring these practices to the Dalai Lama every time with him? He always is talking about 7 billion people on the planet. They're not going to meditate. So what could we do? Well, we can bring micro interventions. We can bring these 30 second practices that can be sprinkled throughout their day. And this is where the union of ancient wisdom and modern technology is really there to be harnessed.
After a life-changing experience in India, Dr. Richie Davidson tried to convince his Harvard professors to let him study the science of meditation. No one took him seriously. Half a century later, Richie has measured the undeniable impact of meditation on our brains. And here’s the good news for people who know the benefits of meditation but struggle to actually do it: you don't need to carve out separate time for a practice. Richie walks Maya through how to integrate meditation into daily activities.
