In episode 10a you briefly mentioned what the need for sodium is during endurance exercise. Can we I guess just quickly recap that before we start looking into actually how much we need. Yeah so I guess firstly we need to understand biologically what sodium does within the body and then that gives us a bit of a sense of you know why it might be useful to replace during exercise. 50% roughly 50% of all the sodium in our body exists in that extra cellulose fluid or interstitial fluid which has the biggest influence on the overall osmolality of our blood.
