Assessment vs Grating

i want to distinguish between assessment and grating. That project was authentically assessed. The kids took it seriously. They had rubrics for problem solving, a rubric for te including their critical analysis of the problem in their ideas to solve it. And they also had what would i like to call an impact rubric. Did your story entertain your reader? Did your scientific investigation prove or disconfirm your hypothesis? Did your design work for your purpose and audience? These are impact questions, and i don't think we ask them enough for students. mark high lighted those in this project.
