After MDMA was scheduled, all the government attention and research money were turning millions of dollars went into proving that MDMA is neurotoxic. And no one did any. It sounds a little bit similar to the story with LSD and mushrooms where after they become scheduled, then there's no money to do research on the potential benefits.
