Are Consumers Really Good at Predicting Inflation?

Consumer inflation expectations are the lowest it's been in 15 months since September of 2021. The gap between Michigan consumer sentiment and the conference board has never been bigger. This statistic is at or near its highest level in the pre pandemic 2000s. Nothing ever beats a pre during pandemic growth rate, right? Because they were crazy.
