The Effects of Cyanide on Oxygen Utilization
If you inhibit cytochrome oxidase after about 40% in an organism, the organism dies. This is has a... But presumably it's a nomogram of duration and degree of suppression,. So maybe you could have a 40% reduction for two seconds, but not a 40% reductions for two minutes or something. That's correct. For example, the classic poison cyanide. What does cyanide do? It gets into the circulation and inhibits cyto chrome oxidase and minutes later you die. If that happens, it's not compatible to life.
