The strongest release of dopamine and the highest chance of it becoming a permanent neural pathway is when it's an unexpected intermittent reward. So in the case of, you know, trying to break your sugar addiction, you say, oh, I got this pop up. It's Wednesday at four o'clock. Wow, I get to have my dark chocolate today or,. you know, right now. And that is a way that you can actually retrain your brain to love that chocolate and feel a big burst of dopamine when you get that instead of the negative thing.
