Reading for Pleasure
This week's reading episode is about learning to read in other languages. It wouldn't be a reading episode if I didn't relate it directly to my own experience. At the minute, I am trying to learn German as well. But that really bores the life out of me, but I know I need to do it. What role does reading for pleasure play in supporting struggling readers? If you're just focusing on the reading for pleasure side and hoping that will trigger this capability then you're probably on a hiding to nothing for the vast majority of children.
