Nike's Steve Prefontaine
Steve Prefontaine is one of the most famous runners in history. Nike was founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman who helped found Blue Ribbon which would later become Nike. In 1972 pre sets the American record in the 5000 meters at an Olympic qualifying event. He narrowly misses the podium all together not even a bronze. But soon with Knight's encouragement pre is back on the track setting records again.
