Are There Good Reasons to Use Statistical Methods?
Bayesian methods are not the standard in almost all of statistics. The real methods that are kind of the common language of statistical inference and testing are frequentist methods. There is no way for those methods to distinguish between hypotheses that we should require much stronger evidence in support of than we do versus ones that are sort of in agreement with previously established theory or understanding of the world.
