Xanthippus and the Carthaginians

The romans built a fleet of about 80 ships to blockade lillibom harbor and ordered the bulk of their land forces to the city with instructions to bring it to its knees. But despite the massive investment of time and money into siege equipment and provisions, the carthaginians simply would not be moved. The war now returned to sicily. Xanthippus could have done great things for them, but he was never given a chance.
