In 1926, Wheatie Cereal dropped the mic with this banger. In 1958, Mr. Clean spruced up our TV screens with this little ditty. Nancy Sinatra gave us this song about RC Cola in the swingin' 60s. Through the 80s and 90s, the jingles just kept coming. Eventually, it felt like there was one in almost every commercial. But then, something strange happened. Advertisers cut way back on using jingles. Suddenly, many of those melodic earworms were replaced with spoken-word slogans.
