There's this huge genetic variation that can exist among people in terms of the development of an anxious temperament. My dad, as you know, grew up on a ranch in North Dakota and I think by nature he tends to be a little cautious by nature. Environments like that kind of train people in cautiousness. And then even further, you can imagine traumatic situations where people are really assaulted or they have terrible things happen to them which fosters anxiety.
Dr. Hanson and Forrest continue their series on the central question “Who Am I” by exploring subjects related to the development of fear, wariness, and worry in our often anxious brains.
