For the first time in Russian history, violent rank common soldiers are really being paid and they're being paid a lot by provincial standards. In some smaller towns, it really changed the real estate market because lots of people died from this. So their family members are buying new real estate. The war was not lucrative for broader masses. It could be lucrative for officers but not for their violent rank.
