People who don't care about anything learn to value this kind of ephemeral success. The vast majority of people have no chance, right? I mean, just so much extra cognitive overhead that they couldn't just live normally while doing this at all. They execute this not by not caring about physical things that don't affect them or that only affect some broader picture. But also people can tell it's very, very hard to fake, which is like maybe someone at my intelligence level who really wanted to and was much more emotionally capable of it could pull off.
