How do you build speed at the end of a marathon to ensure one finishes the last five kilometers strong? You've got to have a realistic pace expectation of negative, negative, specific basically. Nutrition and hydration are also important in terms of pacing it right. I'm a bigger athlete at 89 kilograms and struggle going uphill. Conversely, descending is a relative strength for mine.
