Is There Any Dogma of the Virgin Birth?

I agree with doctor ortland that any dogma, including the marian dogmas, is not optional for belief. The churchs used one of its highest levels of teaching authority to affirm this belief is true. I also want to add that the dogma of the assumption isn't just about saying, this event happened in history. It didbut you have to ask, why would the church dogmatize it? Usually the church infallibly defines things in the face of heresy. But in 19 50, belief in the assumption was universal in the church, and protest basically ignored it.
