NASA's base telescopes are still detecting the infrared emission from the source. The dust is still sort of hanging around. We think that pretty much every star like the sun has planets around it. If we understand what stars look like after they have engulfed planets, we can actually use that to go and ask which of the other stars may have engulfed planets.
