Retrival Practice
Parents and carers need to know that retrieval practice is more effective than high lighting and underlining. They can still panic when their child forgets and can't recall information. It's really powerful when you know where the gaps are in your knowledge, because you can do something about that. And i try and use it at every opportunity in lessons, on reports and parments evenings. All teachers and school leaders should be singing from same retrieval practice hymn sheet.
