The point of social emotional learning is to do that, conscientization through education. And this same straw man appears in a the initial construction, justifying everything that alias is going to write here. He doesn't mention explicitly that once you've gone down this road, only the critical marxist view believes it really understands the concrete conditions of people's lives. But he does say the transformative and humanizing thing, though.
