Is Space-Based Missile Defense a Threat?
Current U.S. missile defenses are sufficiently limited that they don't actually pose a threat to the survivability of the Russian or Chinese arsenals and should not be seen as a threat. One area we might see that would be in space-based missile defense. There's a few different versions of this and no one has really made it work yet, right? But you could imagine lasers in space requires a big power source to do that. They're different approaches, but this is stuff that the U.S.'s pulling off the shelf and investigating again.
