How to Develop Sham Resilience

Shame resilience is helping a person experiencing shame to feel the opposite emotions. These might include, as we spoke about, connection, empathy, freedom and power. The most common have been listed in the 12 categories of shame. Understanding where our messaging around shame has come from can help us work with it. Empathy and vulnerability can lead to feeling valued and seen by others. While shame is quite isolating, empathy builds connection and compassion for ourselves and others. Self-compassion is the word that pricklyly, especially when we come from disempowerment. A lot of the trauma around shame is this, I need to be more or I need to kind of fix the wrong parts
