The Benefits of Running on Dirt
"I've never been a dogmatic coach. I love asphalt, but Bobby pushes me to run on dirt more," says Coburn. "If we're going to do something really, really fast, then I don't mind the track." She's not torn about it and she understands why it works for her on the asphalt. But there are dirt routes that, that serve her well, especially at the intermediate places.
