i find that with every race i've done, is it like, its a week or two before the taper starts, all these injuries pop up. Like at leadville, i had quad strains, and i couldn't even run five miles o my quads. During a taper, decrease volume a lot, go into the race, injury disappears. I'm like, i i know it's like is pattern. Injury shows up, i get nervous, then it's gong to affect the race. Come race day, it doesn't exist any more.
