New practitioners to c b t will use an a, b c form. When the extreme thoughts come upon you about an activating event, you literally write it down on paper. So that's c b t in action, a, b, c. B are the beliefs that you have about the activating event. Then c are like the consequences, the emotions that you feel because of your beliefs,. and then how you behave as a result of these emotions.
