The Differences Between Rationalism and Empiricism
The idea behind rationalism is essentially that you can know things and have higher degrees of confidence in things that you claim to know or suspect to be true, largely based on reason. And empiricist on the other hand tends to be more interested in data itself. So there are going to be some a priori assumptions and some some rationalist thought that goes into any empirical approach.
