In a 1954 speech, the US President Dwight Eisenhower said: I have two kinds of problems, the urgent and the important. Important tasks are activities that yield outcomes that lead us to achieving our goals. Urgent thinks force you to put out that fire as soon as possible but it's still important to soak the furnace to heat up the house. The Pomodoro Technique is great for kind of making sure that you focus on things and getting things done. David Allen's work is great for thinking about how you structure your work and organize them based on context.
