It is kind of like a metronome in that it's also a positive feedback. So you have the all the neurons firing at the same time. And then there's a bunch of other things happen once they fire. They're things that close that are deactivated and then everything becomes negative together. We don't yet know why that metronome is going off. But when I started 30 something years ago, we thought maybe it was just something that was a signature of something else going on.
