The Nature of Consciousness

There's a lot of different views about the nature of consciousness and ways of answering the mind, body problem. Rob: I've argued that consciousness can't in fact be fully explained using the standard resources of neuroscience and psychology. The biggest problem for dualism is how do minds and body interact? How could this non physical consciousness play any role in the physical world? That's what philosophy is called epiphenomenalism. Or you can go for an interaction view where consciousness affects the physical world. And then the question is, how can you reconcile that with physics?
