Is There a Standard for Retraction Notices?
An ideal retraction would be transparent about the nature of the problem, but also the timing of it. A retraction watch needs to be looking in as how the research is going on er, and not necessarily understood as an integral part of it. I don't think we would have been able to have any success were we a beholden to the same structure,. the scientists and the publishers and everyone else were writing about his beholden. It's necessary that your work stand outside of that, outside of those processes, merely for the sake of conflict of interests. But if anything, any kind of accountability shouldn't be all or at all excuse for being irresponsible.
