Introduction
Aristotle identifies the good life as the life of reason and virtue. Though pleasure has its place in the good life, it is not the primary goal of the good life. Aristotle even finds it plausible that our happiness can retroactively be destroyed after our deaths if our close friends and descendants have horrors visited upon them.
