The Effects of Toxins on the Gut
There's a lectin in red kidney beans called pha which is phytohymagglutinin. In animal models this causes overgrowth of the wrong type of bacteria in the gut and dysbiosis. The main type of kidney stone that we see in western medicine 75 percent are oxalate kidney stones, according to Dr. David Perry. He says plants have been used as survival foods by humans for 450 million years but today they're becoming staple food.
