The Role of Satellite Cells in Muscle Growth

In order to create a significant increase in the size of the muscle fiber, we have to obviously add more nuclear to that muscle fiber. That means we do need satellite cells for hypertrophy to a certain extent. But what we notice is that we can create a very strong satellite cell response anytime we create muscle damage even if there is no hypertrophy being stimulated whatsoever.
