Rendering a Frame in a Video Game?

In some games, more time will be spent rendering than simulation and vice versa. ideally, you want to try to keep these two costs sort of like in harmony because much of the cost of rendering is happening on the GPU. If you can't keep those similar, then you'll have one just like waiting around for the other one to finish,. which is not ideal.
