We need a good amount of ankle dorse flicion. Can you get down a deep squat without falling over backwards? If you can do that, you can probably run up hills and with good mechanics. This is a problem because now ou've taken a running thing up a hill, which requires dorse fliction. Here's the issue: A lot of people lack sufficient dorset flexion. So here's the litmus test to see if you're ready for it. You have to be able to stand on your tiptoes in order to move at all.
