The Golden Age of Children's Play

The first half of the final century, roughly up until 1955, was the Golden Age of Children's Play in America. By about 1900, the need for child labor had decreased the growth that children had a good year and a few times. Schools began to become compulsory, but they were not the big thing that they later became. Now over this 50 or 60 years period, there's been an enormous increase in childhood mental disorders.
