The Effects of Carbohydrates on Physical Activity
The study looked at the physical activity response to three different diets. People who ate a high carbohydrate breakfast were then spontaneously more physically active throughout the rest of the day compared to when they skipped their breakfast and remained fasted. But intermittent fasting days where people weren't consuming any calories, their physical activity was lower than when they were consuming calories. So we didn't know if it was carbohydrate specifically or energy, but there was clearly something going on there.
