How to Appraise a Manager

You have to remember that part of your job as a manager is to make sure you are setting up the people you're responsible for for success. Success takes place in organizational terms, but also in very personal terms so understanding what this individual really wants. You never want to have an appraisal that's a surprise to the person being appraised.
