Is There a New Arms Race?
The United States has been developing increasingly sophisticated missile defenses to protect the US homeland from an incoming attack. This is inherently a good thing, but it has downsides because if you have a shield that's threatening the viability of an adversary's nuclear arsenal then they are at your mercy in a way. And I think it's one of the factors that could drive this new arms race that I'm talking about.
