There's no evidence that changing the language you speak will give you magical special powers, either. But in general, yeah, it is very popular with science fiction. In some kinds of philosophical languages, I mean, I really think something like Logebahn also has this at the back of its mind. And then in science fiction, novels like Stranger and a Strange Land has a lot of this.
