The Five Focus Series of Listening
We spend more time listening than any other communication piece, and yet we have the least training on it. So if you're listening and the goal is not to formulate a response, what should the new goal be? I would say these get into what i call the five focus series of listening. Sometimes i just need to listen for the big picture. Or maybe even some of that evaluadating of the content. You know, there's a little bit of an ivaluative mind set to how you're listening.
